The 7th annual Made in New York Jazz Festival in Montenegro took place from June 24th to 26th, 2022. The festival began with a premiere concert at the Synchro stage in Porto Montenegro, Tivat. The grand finale concert was held at the Atrium of The Capital Plaza in Podgorica, the festival’s strategic partner.
The festival featured a lineup of renowned jazz artists, including Camille Thurman on saxophone and vocals, Allan Harris on guitar and vocals, Benny Benack III on trumpet and vocals, Jesús Molina on piano and keyboards, Russell Hall on upright bass, Yaacov Mayman on saxophone, flute, and ewi, Darrell Green on drums, Ben Kraef on saxophone, Filip Bulatović on piano and keyboards, and Šule Jovović on guitar, among many others.
Additionally, the festival hosted the “Mapo keys” concert at the Ethno Jazz Club Sejdefa in Podgorica on June 25th.
The 7th Made in New York Jazz Festival Montenegro 2022 was a huge success, attracting a large number of jazz lovers from around the world. The festival once again demonstrated the high level of musical talent and diversity that can be found in the jazz scene today. Montenegro gained a lot from this cultural event, not only in terms of the increased visibility and cultural exchange, but also in terms of boosting the local economy and tourism industry.
